Physics Aptitude Test

The Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) is a specialised entrance examination which is mandatory for applicants aiming to study Physics, or joint courses like Physics and Philosophy, at the University of Oxford. If you're applying for one of these courses, you will need to register for and sit the PAT as part of the admissions process. The university uses the results of this test, along with other factors like your personal statement, teacher's reference, and achieved/predicted grades, to decide which candidates to invite for interviews.

I offer specialised coaching for the PAT, including tuition in the particular topics included in the test (which have often not yet been covered in the school syllabus), and intensive past paper practice.

Interview Preparation

In addition to Oxford and Cambridge, many other universities - especially those which are part of the Russel Group of research instituitions - require interviews for particular courses. Interviews may also form a part of certain programs offered by a university, which can result in an offer of reduced entrance grades and certain grants or bursaries.

I offer individual interview preparation for university admissions related to STEM or STEM-adjacent courses. This includes one-to-one mock interviews, working through model answers to common interview questions, and general interview top tips and advice.

As part of my standard tuition packages, I offer general advice and coaching pertaining to university applications. This includes assistance with writing personal statements, advice regarding the admissions processes for individual universities, and guidance on which universities to choose.

In addition to general university application support, specialised interview and admissions coaching is available as detailed above. For students already booked on to one of my long-term tuition packages (term or year duration), I offer a discount for my specialised admission services.
